School Council

Balladen School Council is made up of 14 eager and enthusiastic pupils, a boy and a girl from each year group.  In Key Stage One council members are picked using a raffle system and in Key Stage Two children campaign and are then elected within the class.

The council meets most Mondays and looks at improvements that could be made in school; finds ideas to raise money for school funds; and listens to the views of other pupils.  Junior children have the responsibility to help out at coffee afternoons and other fundraising events.

School council have set up help boxes so that children can ask for help from the school council team by filling in help sheets. School council aim to help other children and help them to feel happy at Balladen School.

As a school council member the children strive to be a role model and set a good example to others. They aim to help make positive changes and to feedback any ideas and discussions to their class.

We enjoyed arranging the Children in Need Day and coffee afternoons to raise money for school. We also enjoyed taking part in the Eco Schools Conference in Blackburn.
